We hopped on this emerging social technology to make Great Clips a leader in customizable Snapchat lenses

Creating a custom branded lens on Snapchat is equal parts expensive and difficult. Well, at least it was until earlier this year when Snapchat introduced its public Lens Studio — a free tool that allows anyone to design and build augmented reality lenses for the app. Excited by the idea, we jumped on it right away with Great Clips and ended up making them the first in their industry to launch a customizable Snapchat lens using augmented reality (AR).

Our team worked in the Lens Studio to unveil three hairstyles: the Power Pomp, the Bunshine and the Ultimullet. Each style featured three explosive combinations of colors, ranging from cotton candy pink to rich brunette — all interchangeable with a single swipe.

Snapchat users can access the custom lens by visiting Great Clips salons and scanning the Snapcode while in the app. With no hard costs or paid media, the custom Great Clips lens has garnered 798K organic views, and Snapchat asked us to be included in their portfolio of success stories.
