A quick jaunt downtown. Periscope runs the Torchlight 5K.

Who needs to hail a cab when you can run through downtown? 'Cause run is precisely what Team Periscope did for the Life Time Fitness Torchlight 5K. Armed with stylish sweatbands, neon-colored running shorts and chic sleeveless shirts, 26 Periscopians battled thousands of other runners over 3.2 miles of downtown street.

When the clock struck 7:30 p.m., the runners were off. Periscope's own Greg Kurowski, Bradley Epstein and Mike Stone led the charge down Hennepin Avenue, followed by the other finish-line-hungry Periscopians.

"It was a great run and a great event. Periscope had a huge amount of people participate, which really set the tone for a great run," said Robin Pfeifer, Account Executive and Captain of the Periscope Running Club. "All in all, it was an awesome event. I'm so proud of our team for braving the heat, the long registration lines and complete and utter lack of port-a-potties at the starting line. But we came out and ran like the Prefontaine-esque champions that we are."

She added, "Really. How cool is it to work somewhere that promotes these kinds of activities?"

When the race was over, the runners exchanged sweaty hugs and high fives, and partied with free beer, Powerbars and Salted Nut Rolls.
