Periscope's Tom Flint gets "social" at BBTS Symposium

The list of speakers for the first-ever Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solution Executive Symposium, held this spring in Marco Island, Florida, was as impressive as the weather. Colin Powell shared his perspective on leadership. Malcolm Gladwell gave attendees the business. And Periscope’s very own Tom Flint, Director of Digital Strategy, got “social” with BBTS dealers, in a series of cutting-edge, social media-savvy workshops.

The symposium gave Bridgestone Bandag dealers the opportunity to learn forward thinking approaches to creating personalized solutions for their customers. And attendees of Mr. Flint’s workshop — "What is social media, and does it have a place in my commercial tire business?" — were treated to a four-wheel drive into the realm of Twitter, Facebook and the blogosphere. Not only did attendees enjoy the trip, they returned armed with a greater perspective on how important a social media strategy is to their dealerships.

“Being able to share our social media insights with the dealers who interact directly with the end customer was a wonderful experience,” said Flint. “And the insights we gained by connecting with the BBTS leadership during the conference will help us to provide better solutions to the challenges they face and allow us to become an even better partner."
