With the grand opening of Target Field mere months away, Periscope and the Minnesota Twins unveiled this new TV commercial featuring the new ballpark during the 2010 Super Bowl on February 7.
However, the latest in the successful “This Is Twins Territory” campaign, the spot takes on an entirely new dimension than its predecessors.
That’s right. For the first time in the campaign’s history, the spot will be animated.
As in 2-D.
Specifically, the ad features characters from the Twins original logo and iconic center field sign at Target Field coming to life and celebrating outdoor baseball.
"We wanted to incorporate a unique feature of Target Field into the campaign,” said Charlie Callahan, Executive Creative Director. “When we saw Minnie and Paul standing out there overlooking center field it seemed like the perfect icon to use."
The spot aired during the second half of Sunday’s gigantic game.
