Periscope was one of the top achievers at the hotly contested 2011 AIGA Minnesota Design Show, held on Friday, May 6 at Shelter Studios in Minneapolis. Its graphic and digital design teams submitted six winning entries that spanned a wide cross-section of creative. The winning entries were:

“Have Some High 5s”: Created to showcase Periscope’s digital capabilities, this website, mobile site and mobile app featured over 130 video variations on the classic high five. View the site here.
“See Us in a Different Light”: A movie created for Andersen Windows & Doors to help refresh and rebrand their image.
2011 Minnesota Twins Season Ticket Boxes: Designed to be beautiful and functional, three box designs were created to hold season ticket packages for the 20-game, 40-game and suite-level ticket packages.
Mustache Cowl Necks: Handmade cowl necks designed to keep Minneapolis bicyclists warm and stylish, featuring the trademark Handsome handlebar mustache.

Periscope’s Design Director, Bruce Bourne, said the show is an annual opportunity for Minneapolis’ tight-knit design community to come together and show respect for “good, proper design” and the solutions it offers to real-world problems. “Good design can better everyone’s life,” said Bourne. “For every problem, there are many design solutions. Some are more eloquent than others.”
Founded in 1914, AIGA remains the oldest and largest professional membership organization for design. AIGA represents more than 22,000 design professionals, educators and students through national activities and local programs developed by 66 chapters and 200 student groups. Minnesota’s chapter is one of the largest and most influential in the country.
